sid & marty krofft: land of the lost

my childhood love of dinosaurs was fostered in no small part by land of the lost, the groundbreaking saturday morning television show from the 70's. the program boldly blended stop motion dinosaurs with hand puppets to create a surreal world full of mystery and danger and sleestaks that completely blew my mind as a kid.

so, when i was asked if i would be interested illustrating a LOTL poster for sid & marty krofft, i jumped at the opportunity.

the 6-color silkscreen is a limited edition and will be released at the huckleberry toys booth (#3449) at the 2012 san diego comic-con. sid and marty will be making an appearance and signing the posters there from 2-4 pm on saturday 7/14.

petersen automotive museum: aerodynamics poster

the folks at petersen automotive museum hired me earlier this year to create the poster/branding for their new exhibit "aerodynamics: from art to science".

the poster features some of the landmark cars in the evolution of automotive aerodynamics; a 1996 GM EV1 (top), a 1938 Delahaye Type 135M Competition Roadster (middle), and a 1955 Ghia Gilda (bottom).

the illustration will be used on posters, brochures, web graphics, and a 30-foot tall banner on the outside of the museum. if you happen to be on wilshire blvd. in LA, check it out.

the show runs from june 2012 to may 2013.

pc world: email hijack

i was hired by pc world to create a spot illustration for their june, 2012 issue.

this spot illustration accompanies a story on spammers who hijack, or "spoof" email accounts.

mondo: toy story variant

here's the variant edition of the final print in my mondo/disney screenprint series, "toy story"!

my goal here was to capture the awe and wonder that swept all of the toys in andy's room (with the notable exception of woody) when buzz arrived on the scene.

at any rate, i think it's only fitting that this poster series ends with the first pixar film, which unbelievably, was released all the way back in 1995.

"this isn't flying, this is falling with style!"

poster specs:
• 6-color screenprint on cougar natural 100# cover
• size: 24" x 36"
• limited edition of 150
