this is, hands down, my favorite peanuts special. It invokes a quiet tone and humble demeanor that captures the true spirit of christmas so perfectly. i had this one in rotation early this year as i was working on the poster and not surprisingly, my son is enamored with it. nice to see it captivates generation after generation.

so, here's the evil purple variant colorway of "the roost", my homage to the greatest of all decepticon communications experts.

mondo: the mad doctor

next up in the disney poster series: 1933's insane (and frightening) "the mad doctor"!

this has got to be one of the most twisted of all the disney shorts. in it, pluto is captured and chained in a dungeon/laboratory by the titular mad doctor as part of an experiment to create a hybrid chicken/dog. seriously. you can check it out here.

mondo: pinocchio

here's the second disney feature film that i've tackled for mondo, the classic "pinocchio"!

this is, by far, my favorite of disney's classic era of films. from the lush, detailed backgrounds to the flowing animation style, to the inimitable jiminy cricket, this one has it all. i watched it a bunch when i was creating the poster and still have it in heavy rotation to enjoy with my son. fantastic!
