so, here's that new print that i've been teasing over the past few weeks… it's my homage to the wise-cracking, wall-crawling superhero whose exploits got me hooked on comics when i was a kid.

the prints are 6.75" x 10.5" (current comic size) signed and numbered archival giclees and will be sold bagged and boarded at the march 2 opening of my show at comics & more in king of prussia, PA. this is a limited edition run of 62. whatever is left over after the show will be made available online at a later date.

i've been getting a lot of folks tweeting and emailing that they'll be attending the opening, and i truly appreciate all of the support…hope to see some of you there!

mondo: rango

produced through mondo as part of their Academy Awards series, here's my poster for rango.

i'd heard the film was great, but i usually shy away from non-pixar animated films when they're released, thinking that they couldn't possibly deliver the heart that the pixar films do. rango, like kung fu panda and how to train your dragon before it proved me woefully wrong. outside of the lush visuals, insane action sequences, and amazing creature design, there's a real soul to the character of rango (voiced by johnny depp) that is quirky and endearing and elevates the film to a higher level.

at any rate, the poster will be released at a random time during the academy awards ceremony on feb 26th, so make sure to not get caught staring at glenn close in her "albert nobbs" makeup and pay attention to the mondo site. happy hunting.

mondo: lonesome ghosts

i've been anxiously anticipating showing this one off, so here it is: my poster for disney's classic "lonesome ghosts"!

as with all of the posters in this series, i tried to capture the mood of the short whilst applying my own design sensibilities. for me, the crux of this film is the aggressive haunting of the ghost hunters by the titular lonesome ghosts, who are so bored they actually place the call to ajax ghost exterminators themselves. i tried to emphasize their deluge of pranks by literally framing mickey, donald and goofy with the ghosts themselves.

side note: legend states that this disney short was an inspiration for ghostbusters, which if true, is pretty durn cool.
